CLLL PARENTS AND COACHES
At this time, Central Loudoun Little League and the entire District are at a significant deficit in our umpiring program. There are future staffing concerns that will have an impact on our kids both in the regular season (already this year) and in the All Star tournaments (both today and in the immediate future). Our need far outweighs our capacity. We need your help.
Please consider volunteering your time. Umpire training dates are listed below.

UMPIRE TRAINING CLINICS
Who:
- All CLLL interested and registered youth/adult umpires must attend the following umpire training events. Whether just getting started or most experienced of the most experienced umpires amongst us. Attendance is MANDATORY for umpires interested in umpiring this Fall.
What:
Presentations on
- Umpire Mechanics (covering fundamentals, signals, positioning for plate and field assignment, uniforms, and handling difficult situations)
- Umpire Roles & Responsibilities (pre-, plate- and post-game conferences, equipment inspection, game scenarios/field coverage/rotations)
When:
Training #1 - Base Umpire Training (Mandatory for all base umpires)
- Date: Sunday August 18th
- Time: 12 - 2PM
- Location: GTP Bohince Field
Training #2 - Plate Umpire Training (Mandatory for all new and existing plate umpires)
- Date: Saturday August 24th
- Time: 10AM - 12PM
- Location: GTP Bohince Field
Equipment Distribution/Return - Will be scheduled for the week of August 26th
- The league provides the following equipment:
- Base Umpires - 2019 rule book, umpire shirt, umpire hat, ball/strike indicator
- Plate Umpires - 2019 rule book, umpire shirt, umpire hat, plate protective equipment*, ball/strike indicator, plate brush, ball bag
*Only required equipment will be distributed.
**Spring Plate Umpires who will NOT be umpiring in the Fall must return their plate gear.
Why:
- Every one of us needs to review and practice our game. New material and situations will be covered each night.
